To recap on the most recent events:
The Roast of Tejas Chhaya turned out to be a lot of fun! There were a lot of jokes made, and a lot of laughter to go with them. I didn't go to bed until 2:30 a.m., which is way past my normal bedtime. It also didn't help that I needed to get up early the next morning for graduation, so I ended up only getting 4 hours of sleep that night.
Graduation turned out to be a really good day! I went early with Brian Lai to save seats, and we watched Will and Tejas receive their diplomas (well...the fake diploma cover anyways). I learned how to play Pétanque,
which is the French version of Bocce Ball. I caught on pretty quick, and Will and I ended up winning the first round. We had a dinner reservation for 16 people at our favorite Japanese restaurant in Redlands, Sushi Kimo. Half of the group (including myself) ordered "omakase", which means that the chef decides to make whatever he feels like, and it's usually things you can't order from the menu. The weirdest thing I ate that night was shark heart. Yes, you read that correctly...the heart of a shark. A good way to end the night. :)
Tejas, graduating with honors!
There he is!
Shaking hands with Paul McQuesten, one of the CS professors
There I am with my two favorite graduates!
Will has lived with all of these men...
Brian is an impostor graduate.
Getting ready for a game of Pétanque
That boy scares me sometimes.
Brian is eating the shark heart.
The "regulars" with the chef and his wife.
The rest of this week will be in another post. Two more days until I go to FRANCE!!!
